INCLUSIVE BASIC SERVICE DELIVERY AND LIVELIHOOD EMPOWERMENT INTEGRATED PROGRAM

The proposed program aims to improve the quality of life of the Nigerian peo ple, particularly in the Northeast Region, through enhanced access of the poor and vulnerable to basic social services, livelihood opportunities and strengthened safety net systems with key considerations to states affected by the Boko Haram insurgency. Th e Program is part of ongoing Federal Government efforts toward North East States i Emergency Transition, Recovery and Peacebuilding, elaborated by the five - year programmatic “Buhari Plan” of 2016.

Development goal- Contribute to reduced poverty and vulnerability in Nigeria in the context of the Northeast emergency transition, recovery and peace building framework. Specific objective - improve the quality of life by increasing access of the poor and vulnerable to basic social services in water, sanitation, hygiene, health and education; livelihood opportunities; food security and strengthened safety net systems in affected states in the Northeast. The Program will give particular attention to the youth, women and IDPs. In a bid to increase, entice and encourage girl child enrolment into schools, Gombe state Inclusive Basic Service Delivery and Livelihood Empowerment Integrated Program under the Leadership of the Project Coordinator Engr. Abdurraqib M. Saâ€™eed through the Education Sector have purchased and distributed School materials for 1,500 Girls such as School bags and writing materials in communities with low girl child enrolment in Nafada, Dukku, Funakaye and Kwami LGAs. International Conference Center Gombe

Gombe State being strategically located at the center of the North East Sub region, the Government considered it economically wise to provide a World class standard International Conference Center at Gombe Township being the State capital. It is based on the concept of revenue consolidation that His Excellency the Executive Governor of Gombe State Alh. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo OON, (Talban Gombe) decided to establish a center that will serve as one of the economic base that will generate revenue when fully operational. It is envisaged that the provision of the edifice will create employment opportunity and create numerous commercial activities within the State as well as provide avenue for social and cultural exchange of positive values and ideas.
